Delia Latham ~ What’s on your summer reading list for this year? New authors or ones that you love and have read their work before?
My TBR pile is downright scary right now. I got behind while I was on deadline for the Solomon’s Gate Series, and then I fell ill…it’s been one thing after another. So my summer reading will be “duty” reads. Fortunately, most of them look interesting, so I’m not complaining. A few are even authors I really like. I’m particularly looking forward to Vickie McDonough’s Finally a Bride.

Delia Latham ~ Any favorite flowers that bloom in the summer?
I love flowers of most varieties, but I’m not very educated as to names and bloom times. I admire them, but I do not have a green thumb. Passion flowers and fuschia are a couple of my favorites.

Delia Latham ~ Lemonade vs. iced tea: which is the winner for you?
Dr. Pepper. LOL  J/K…kind of. Of these two, lemonade wins hands down. I’m not a tea drinker at all.

Joanne Troppello ~ What do you like most about the summer time?
I love the longer hours to the days. I enjoy planting our vegetable garden and eating fresh veggies. Spending time outside with my family and friends is high on the list.

Joanne Troppello ~Do you plant a vegetable garden in the summer? If you do, what veggies do you grow?
My husband and I have planted a vegetable garden for the last three years. We just got our garden started for the season and we planted Juliet tomato plants, sweet peppers, bell peppers, broccoli, eggplant, zucchini, yellow zucchini and cucumbers. I love having fresh vegetables in the summer time! We’re even thinking about planting a hydroponic garden in our basement soon so we can grow vegetables all year long.

Joanne Troppello ~ Do you like to waterski, go kayaking, boating or do you prefer relaxing on the beach with a good book?
I’m definitely not a water-skier or summer sports fanatic. The craziest thing I ever did was go white water rafting. I had fun. One time while on vacation in Mexico with my family, I went on a banana boat with my husband and his brother and his wife and cousin and his wife. It was going well until my cousin-in-law tipped the raft and made us flip over. I got on one more time, but he flipped us again and then I got into the boat and let them finish out the water ride.

Joanne Troppello ~ Have you ever gone anywhere exotic on vacation?
My husband and I went to Hawaii on our honeymoon. It was beautiful and felt like Paradise even after we just got out of the airport. Of course, it is expensive to live there and I know that not everyone lives the high life in style there, but it’s the one place that I’ve been where literally everyone we spoke to who lived on the islands and worked there, was extremely happy and friendly.

Anne K. Albert ~ What is your favorite summer time memory?
As a child I loved going to the beach, but it was a rare and treasured experience. In my neck of the woods a beach meant miles of soft sand with cool and sometimes cold lake water.

Anne K. Albert ~ Do you like to waterski, go kayaking, boating or do you prefer relaxing on the beach with a good book?
Nothing is more relaxing than reading at the beach, but I’ve also become addicted to fresh water fishing with my husband. We have a small boat and motor and enjoy fishing for our dinner.

Anne K. Albert ~ Have you ever gone anywhere exotic on vacation?
Besides writing, traveling has always been my passion. I’ve toured South America, visited a great number of the Caribbean islands, and traversed Easter Europe while it was still part of the Soviet Union. I’ve also driven across Canada and the USA many, many times, and really love rolling down an interstate.

Anne K. Albert ~ When you go on vacation, do you like to relax or be more active and sightsee?
It really depends on the type of vacation. For a winter break, away from the snow and cold, nothing beats a warm, Caribbean beach. I enjoy just staying put for a week or two and will often not even leave the resort. When we drive cross country, I love the excitement of heading to a new destination each day. When we visit a city, I prefer to spend time at a B&B within easy walking distance of the downtown sites.

Anne K. Albert ~ Beach or the mountains…which do you prefer?
That’s easy--the beach. I actually get anxious when I’m in, near or on a mountain. I have no idea why, but I feel trapped. I’m always on the lookout for a speedy exit…and with mountain roads that can be a major problem. Please don’t get me wrong. I enjoy looking at mountains, as long as they’re 50 to 100 miles away…I just don’t like being on or in them!

Stacy Juba ~ Do you like to waterski, go kayaking, boating or do you prefer relaxing on the beach with a good book?
I prefer relaxing with a good book, or doing sightseeing.

Stacy Juba ~ Do you even like summer or is winter, spring or fall more what you enjoy?
I love summer as I hate the cold.  I'd rather be hot than cold, though having air conditioning is invaluable on a scorching humid day.

Stacy Juba ~ Where do you prefer to swim: lakes, pools or the ocean?
Pools. I don't like lakes much, and I don't swim much in the ocean - I mainly jump the waves as long as the water is warm enough.

Stacy Juba ~ Do you like to go on picnics?
I love picnics at the park. Sometimes we get homemade pizza and desserts from a local bakery and bring it to the park.

Stacy Juba ~ What’s on your summer reading list for this year? New authors or ones that you love and have read their work before?
I have two suspense novels to read written by author Darcia Helle, who is one of my friends  - No Justice and Beyond Salvation. I'm also on the wait list for Sweet Valley Confidential by Francine Pascal, which follows the Sweet Valley High characters 10 years later.  I read the Sweet Valley books in high school, and I'm curious about this new book.

When I was looking for another home for my short erotic holiday romance, The Cowgirl's Christmas, Pam Tyner was very enthusiastic. She's always shown herself to be someone who is passionate about this business, about the books she has. She's been my editor from the first day and has shown a great amount of skill and passion for it. Not only does she do an amazing job as the editor but she's also a great marketing and promotional support person. Never too busy to answer a question or talk about a new idea for promo. She's one of the best I've ever seen when it comes to communication with both staff and authors. We're a team - a fellowship of writers if you will who can share our trials and trib...

Ray Rhamey has arrived!

Thank you Mr. Rhamey for coming by. Its a great pleasure to have you here today. I hope our readers will stop in and ask a lot of questions, maybe post a paragraph or two of their current project to get some fresh insight. "Thank you for having me." 1. How long have you been part of the industry? In the sense that I’ve devoured novels since I was a boy, virtually a lifetime. My first interest in publishing sparked when I graduated from college. But I had a degree in psychology, was in Texas, and had a family that I needed to support--I couldn’t figure out how to get into publishing. So I left that ambition behind. Dissolve to decades later when my advertising career had pretty much run its course due to ageism and economic downturn. I had been writing novels and was a member of a critique group. Based on what I did in our weekly sessions, two members separately asked me to edit their novels. They found what I did to be very helpful. You should understand that I h...

Book Signings the frustrations and the joys

With several books now available, I was honored when a local bookstore asked me in for a booksigning. Like any author, I ordered a few of each of my books in both print and ebook (CD's) and prepared to wow the crowds. I got there an hour early - set up, got organized, made sure my pens worked and waited. Waited for friends, co-workers, family - who'd said they'd be there but didn't show up. By the time my signing was over, I'd become almost resigned to its failure. After all how can it be a success when I sold one book and talked to a few people - who asked questions but didn't make a purchase? Yet it wasn't a complete frustrating failure. Oh no, by making one sale I have my book(s) in another persons hands. There was another lady there as well who gave me her card and said "call me". Is she a buyer? Yes, she is. She owns a book store several hours away from my hometown. And i will definitely be calling her. As well, I learned a few other tidbits a...
